Shantou Customs Clears First Cross-Border E-Commerce Imports to East Guangdong
10/17/2017

On October 12, 2017, Shantou Customs cleared within 1 hour the first 64 consignments of cross-border e-commerce imports into east Guangdong region. Most of the imports were foreign healthcare products transferred via Chaoshan International Airport to Shantou Postal Cross-Border E-Commerce Control Center.

Since 2017, Shantou Customs has been providing support to express consignment companies and trying to build cross-border e-commerce platforms by providing policy guidance and technical assistance so as to launch a Postal Cross-Border E-Commerce Control Center on September 6, 2017 for efficient clearance.

According to Shantou Customs, cross-border e-commerce provides local companies with easier access to international markets and new development opportunities, and also provides local consumers with easier access to overseas products.
